What We Do

T.E.A.M.S Coaching is a comprehensive personal development program that takes the team approach to enhancing the lives of children, teenagers and young adults. We provide individual child and  teen mentorship, academic support and coaching, youth transition skills coaching, motivation coaching for teens, time management skills for youth, and overall  life skills coaching for young people. We offer individualized coaching for children, teenagers and young adults, both in-person and online. Our focus is on the areas of transition, education, athletics, mindset, and social skills. We also provide consulting sessions for parents on dealing with struggling children, teens and young adults in any of the areas mentioned.

T.E.A.M.S Coaching is a comprehensive personal development program which takes the team approach to enhancing the lives of teenagers and young adults.  We provide individual coaching and mentoring to teenagers and young adults, either in-person or online.  Our focus is on the areas of transition, education, athletics, mindset and social skills. We also provide consulting sessions for parents on dealing with struggling kids in any of the areas mentioned. Individualized plans are created to include personal and collective goals for the mentees and their families, then monitored monthly to ensure progress in the targeted areas of their lives. Coach Walker also makes himself available to collaborate with other members of his mentees’ support team upon requests.  Lastly, we hold social events as opportunities for mentees to apply the skills they are developing.  Click each box to explore the components of the T.E.A.M.S. approach:

Transition

Transition training workshops can help with the challenges of moving from one situation to another. Our goal is to guide you to make any life transition, be it school transitions, or a new job, or simply assimilation into new environments smooth and manageable. Not just to survive but to excel. We help provide the strategies to create productive and comfortable situations for mentees.

Educational

School can be very difficult for students when they don’t have all of the support they need to be successful. There are so many content areas, and while they may excel in some, they struggle in others. This could lead to low self-esteem coaching. The goal here is to avoid those pitfalls by teaching, motivating, and helping them recognize challenges. With years of experience working with students who have learning differences, Coach Walker can do coaching the way that they learn through academic support and mentorship.

Athletics

Navigating the world of athletics can be stressful and overwhelming for kids today. The pressure put on themselves, teammates, and coaches can create challenges that carry over into other parts of their lives. There are so many benefits of playing sports that help mold young people and set them up for success in the future. The processes of learning the game, team building activities, understanding your role on a team, and dealing with disappointment can all be supported through this program, along with athletic mindset development programs and one-on-one training for the fundamentals of football, basketball, or baseball.

Mindset

Young people today are struggling with having positive and ambitious mindsets when it comes to approaching life. The normalizing of complacency and expecting things to just happen have overtaken this generation, and the goal here is to shift that mindset through motivation coaching for children, teens and young adults. Each young person will have a personalized goal setting plan that will be worked through and addressed each session. Each mentee will also learn the values of accountability, as well as how to approach adversity by growing. Together, they will learn the benefits of managing their time, prioritizing, and avoiding procrastination through time management skills for young people. Finding personal motivation and direction are also essential elements of their personal growth.

Social

The importance of addressing social skill training is at an all-time high. Creating and fostering healthy relationships can be really difficult, and the skills sometimes need to be taught explicitly. From perspective taking to code-switching to establishing and respecting boundaries, all of these areas are covered in our social skills coaching. Role-playing and working through social scenarios can equip young people with effective ways to communicate and handle themselves when real situations occur. We also provide guest speaker presentations for youth on various social topics.
